Common questions
The countdown stopped when I locked my phone
Rounds keeps its audio session active during a workout so the timer can carry on with the screen off. If iOS Silent Mode or another app has taken exclusive audio, the session can be interrupted. Check that Rounds is allowed to play sound, and that Low Power Mode is off, then start the workout again.
The Live Activity is not showing on my Lock Screen
Open iOS Settings, find Rounds, and confirm Live Activities is enabled. Live Activities also need Focus settings that permit them. The Dynamic Island appears only on iPhone models that have one; on other models the activity shows on the Lock Screen only.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Your routines and your history live in it, which is what lets them survive a new phone. Signing in is either Sign in with Apple or a six-digit code by email, so there is no password to pick. Every account starts on a seven-day trial and you are not charged until it ends.
Does the timer need a signal?
No. The workout runs on the phone, so a gym with no bars behaves exactly like one with full bars. Finished sessions wait on the device and upload themselves once there is a network.
My workouts are not syncing
Settings says whether anything is still waiting, and offers a retry if an upload has failed. If it says your session has expired, sign in again on the same screen and the queue empties itself.
Can I get at my data from my own scripts?
Yes. Everything the app can do, the Rounds API can do. Mint a personal key under Settings, Advanced, API keys, and revoke it there whenever you like.
Does Rounds read my Apple Health data?
No. It does not request Health permissions and does not read or write anything there.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app clears everything on the device. To close the account and drop what is stored with it, write to hello@userounds.app from the address you signed up with.
